About Ohio Hemp Factory

Ohio Hemp Factory is the retail arm of RA Redden Company (license # 39_0041C) who cultivates CBD hemp. The two companies are joined together by family and friends with a passion for helping the world’s health, wellness, and environment.

Founded in 2019 after the federal farm bill passed, we jumped into the hemp industry full of ambition. Building from the ground up, our plans of a fully integrated business model began to take shape. It took many years of research to gain the knowledge necessary to produce the high quality hemp products we now offer to our customers.

The first thing we accomplished was a big construction project that included a steel building renovation and the erection of an additional steel pole barn for our drying facility. The renovation included everything needed to grow indoors from seed and the new steel pole barn was outfitted with intake,   exhaust fans and dehumidifiers.

Our first crop was started from seed indoors and then transplanted to our field by hand. Our favorite variety, called Royal Hawaiian (sourced from Michigan) did extremely well, along with EC-11, a CBG variety and a Cherry Wine variety.

Needless to say, growing was half the battle; we still needed to go from plant to product. Extracting the oils from the hemp plant is a very expensive venture and the science behind it must be top notch. We didn’t agree with a lot of methods like ethanol, or butane extraction, so the cleanest method we found was supercritical CO2. After much discussion and research, we found a great company in Pennsylvania called Choice Extraction Inc. who could meet our high expectations. The team at CEI are some of the most knowledgeable people we have encountered in the industry, it was a great fit.

This is how we go from seed to sale. We are involved with all aspects of the products you purchase. This gives us the ability to track and monitor all levels of production. As our customer base grows, so does our innovation. We love communicating with our customers because that gives us a cutting edge on current and future product development.
